Project Runway Finale - Christian Siriano

The winner of Project Runway Season 4 is Christian Siriano! As I watched him start to cry even before Heidi Klum could announce the winner, I couldn't help but hope she would call his name. What can I say, I love a man that is sensitive and fierce all at the same time. It was heartwarming to see how important the competition was to him or maybe he was too overcome with excitement from being so close to Posh Spice.

For the past couple of weeks I was hoping that Christian would be the winner. Yes I couldn't help myself and I checked out the finalists' collections online before the show aired. Everyone must like Christian Siriano as much as I do because not only was he the judges favorite, but he was also the fan favorite. I agree with many people that the color scheme was a little monochromatic. Initially the constant influx of black was redundant, although his use of shape and texture made each piece interesting. Two of his jackets I would wear right off the runway (his 4th fitted look and his 6th over the top frill jacket). The frill jacket was fabulous. Anyone who dares to wear that piece down the street will definitely turn heads but still manage to look chic. Out of all three designers Christian had the most cohesive collection. Nina Garcia was on the money when she called Christian's style pure drama. I mean look at his use of feathers, ruffles, and volume. His final dress was spectacular. It clearly showed his point of view and despite being to over the top to wear even on the red carpet, it is beautifully dramatic, pure artwork.

Christian may be focused on designing clothes for women who look more like models, as Rami pointed out, however he has vision and talent that far surpasses his age and experience. Christian makes me want to run out and buy a ruffled coat and large brim hat. Trust me there aren't many designers who could make me feel the same way.

Project Runway Final - Jillian Lewis

I was torn about choosing between Jillian Lewis and Christian Siriano, mainly because Jillian creates clothes that I would wear, clothes that any woman would wear. This season was particularly difficult to judge. All of the designers had a very distinct point of view and inspiration. As for Jillian, I think she gets inspired by clothing that she herself might wear. Her clothes have a certain funkiness that modern women love. She continued her inspiration from the final challenge at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her collection was very creative and if she somehow created a common thread throughtout I believe she might have won.

Every piece in her collection resonates with what woman want to wear including the dress Jillian had on. Who else thought she should have included that dress in the collection! Where can I buy it? She created a bunch of knit pieces that I believe no other Project Runway finalist has done. What you cannot see in these photos online is just how detailed her work really is. We all remember the melodrama surrounding Jillian's inability to manage her time. With all the extra time she had to work on her collection, she was more than able to fine tune all the details.

The one criticism from the judges came from Nina Garcia, who believed that Jillian's collection may have had too many inspirations because it seemed a little disjointed. I do agree in that sense because she didn't put on a cohesive show, however she did create a great line that I believe is the most marketable out of all three. Now the question is, where can I buy a Jillian Lewis piece?

Project Runway Finale - Rami Kashou

Our favorite draper Rami Kashou did the unexpected. He didn't drape all of his collection! There is no doubt that he knows how to dress the female form. I mean all those hours of draping have given him plenty of time to study the female body.

As Heidi mentioned in the deliberation, the way Rami weaved the fabric on certain pieces added an incredible touch.

Project Runway Finale TONIGHT

The Project Runway finale is tonight 10pm eastern time on BRAVO. I cannot wait to see who the judges choose as the winner. I've already gotten a sneak peak at each of their collections (I couldn't help myself) and I must say that each of the did a great job and it will be intereting to see what the judges have to say.
