Topshop's Fall Collection

The Fall Collection for Topshop is divided into a wide arrange of interesting categories, Horror Girl (punk rock inspired), Manhattan Cocktail (glitz, glam, and shine), Marianne (boho fringe), and Highland Fling (Scottish inspired). Take a look below and you will see each of the inspired looks. The super high boots, sequined cocktail dress and blazer are clearly Manhattan. The red and black dress and studded booties are punk. The feathered headdress and vest are boho chic. While the button down jacket with plaid interior is casually Scottish. They work because each look isn't over the top or a caricature of the inpiration.

Jimmy Choo for H&M

Great news! Jimmy Choo is making a line for H&M! Shoe lovers everywhere can now say that they own a pair of Jimmy Choo's. Another luxury brand is lowering its prices for the Sweedish chain.

Last week Jimmy Choo anounced that it would team up with H&M to create a collection comprised of shoes, bags, and accessories. The collection will be ready and in 200 stores around the world in mid November.

Tamara Mellon, founder and President of Jimmy Choo is very happy with the collaboration. "We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far, and to be designing a collection appealing to fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men, too," said Mellon. She calls the collection, "sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible, and glamorous."

The creative advisor for H&M Margareta van den Bosch is the reason behind the impressive lineup of designers H&M has had, including Comme des Garcons, Matthew Williamson, Viktor & Rolf, Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, and Roberto Cavalli. Margareta says, “We adore Jimmy Choo’s shoes and bags. I like the way we have worked with clothes to accessorize the shoes and bags rather than the other way around. This collaboration is particularly exciting because it's our first shoe designer collection. It's a joy to be able to offer top end designer shoes and bags of excellent quality to our customers."

Street Style NYC - Lucky Magazine

New York women seem to have an innate fashion sense that comes effortless. Take a look at some of the trends these girls sported throughout the city.

If you are wearing neutrals and want to liven up an outfit pair with a bright bag. Matching too many styles looks outdated. The bright teal bag above goes well with the tan boots. Accessories can change an outfit, such as the girl above rocking the gray hat and bolero jacket.

I love when women rock menswear. The red lips and tuxedo shirt make for an interesting dichotomy. The mix of black and white is classic and will always leave you looking chic.

Once again mix and match your fabrics and colors. The girl above covers her sparkly mini dress with a gold jacket. Even with all the sparkle she still does not look over the top, I would just suggest to keep this as an evening look. The second girl also mixes her fabrics pairing a leather biker jacket with a knit dress.

Layering has been big this season. Layer a button up shirt over a black long sleeve shirt. The paper bag waist allows you to easily tuck in your shirt. Keep in mind that this look is more flattering for women with smaller frames. Also layer a dress over a turtleneck to create a more casual look.

A crochet dress with cap sleeves paired with dark tights make for a casual look. On the other hand, the feminine fabric of the pink dress adds a touch of glamour.

Kensie - Modern Dreams Spring 2008

The Kensie website describes their line as pretty and effortless, accidentally chic, elegant yet raw. A pretty modern dream for pretty modern dressing. When I first came across this line I also thought I might be dreaming. The embodiment of what I considered my style at an affordable price, could it be? And alas it was. Each outfit averages out around the hundred dollar mark. Not bad for a look that appears much more expensive.

The different designs, prints, florals etc gives each dress a variety of different looks, however the cut and style of each dress keeps a common thread throughout the line. The dichotomy between edgy and feminine makes each piece interesting and no doubt fun to wear.

Below are a few pieces from the line. Kensie excels with separates and dresses, work and night clothes. If you want versatility and an elegant look check out kensie.com.
